Hollywood Actor confirmed to celebrate local charity 20th Anniversary

Leading local social enterprise and re-use charity toogoodtowaste are celebrating their 20th anniversary this year and they have a special visitor going along to their Ynyshir branch at the end of the month to celebrate with them.

They are thrilled that Wales born Hollywood actor, Michael Sheen OBE is going along to their celebratory event on Friday 31st July 2015.  Michael was inspired by the organisation after hearing all the excellent community work that they carry out and wanted to learn more about them.  During his visit Michael will be given a full tour of their charity showroom, including their newly extended retail space and bric-a-brac area.  He will also be one of the first to see their newly introduced pre-owned clothing section that they hope will be a further help to the communities they serve.   Michael will also then be given an exciting behind the scenes tour looking at their new sort facility and training room.

During the tour Michael will be introduced to the dedicated, loyal volunteers and staff members in their natural working environment as well as some partner organisations that the charity works closely with.

Lynda Davies, Chief Executive Officer said: “I am delighted that Michael Sheen will be visiting our Ynyshir branch to help celebrate our 20th Anniversary with us.  This is such a monumental milestone and we are overwhelmed that we have Michael Sheen to help mark this special occasion.”

toogoodtowaste will be open to the public on Friday 31st July and they welcome the local community, customers and supporters to join them in their celebrations between 12pm – 6pm.  During the day there will be refreshments, fun activities and workshops running all day, keep an eye on their Facebook page for all the latest updates or “like” their page for instant news and offers.  Just search for toogoodtowaste.
